CREATING
INVESTIGATE - PLAN - MAKE
Generate and conceptualize artistic ideas and work.
Creativity and innovative thinking are essential life skills that can be developed.
From self directed play with materials in kindergarten to imaginative ideas, brainstorming of 2-4th grade and then combining skills, working collaboratively to develop innovative ideas in 6th grade.
RESPONDING
PERCEIVE-INTERPRET-ANALYZE
Perceive and analyze artistic work and visual imagery.
Aesthetic and empathetic awareness developed through engagement with art.
From recognizing art in your environment and representational imagery to analysis of cultural associations and individual interpretations of art.
PRESENTING
SELECT-ANALYZE-SHARE
Select, analyze, and interpret artistic work for presentation.
Develop and refine artistic techniques and work for presentation.
Conveying meaning through the presentation of artwork.
From identifying reasons for displays as well as where; to differentiating storage and/ or display needs for preserving and presenting a variety of works.

SYNTHESIS-RELATE
Synthesis and relate knowledge and personal experiences to make art.
